Meet the owner

The expression ‘to teach is to learn twice’ certainly holds true for textile artist Elizabeth Dillinger. When she runs a class at her store Art of Fabric, she says she often finds creative solutions to problems through working with students.

“When I am working with six students, creating pictorial textile art quilts,” she explains, “the process shows them how to use colour, value and texture to create a large replica textile art piece that is a duplicate of the picture they have brought to class. The creation of their work also helps me to continue to grow my own artistic work.”

Elizabeth, who is an accomplished, award-winning textile artist, stocks supplies for all kinds of creative activities at her Pickering store. Everything you need for textiles is available alongside art supplies. Plus, she and her equally well-versed colleagues teach an exciting array of classes for people ranging from beginners to advanced students.
