I have visited heaven on Earth when I discovered China Garden!! I moved to Canada in 1999, and in August I first discovered this place! Since then, it has been a love affair! The food is as good as in India!! We go here almost every month since the past 11 years!! I've been to Oregano's many times and know the staff quite well. I usually split a pizza to start (margherita) and get an entree, or pasta. I love the veal parmigana. My husband and I went the other night and had an amazing meal, a wonderful bottle of wine recommended by our server that was perfectly paired to our meal. I would rate this 5 stars because when I went there they had good service and they gave the food to you as soon as possible. When I went there they messed up my order, but when I told them they said they would give me my correct order plus a free drink. So overall I would say that they had very good staff and service. i need to have my jerk fix at least once a week and this is the best spot in Mississauga - trust me i've tried everything. don't expect the best service or atmosphere - that's not because they are rude or not nice, just seems like a lot of people are going in and out. Also, a few times they've mixed up my order, so make sure they get it exactly right. I've also noticed a few times they over salted, but that's a few times in the many many times i've been there. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly! I used to eat here on a weekly basis. Great! Huge portions, very reasonable prices. When I visit Toronto, I often go back to Buddha's. Great location also - close to Kensington and Bathurst/College area. I usually get imitation duck - a layered (a little oily) tofu appetizer. I love the mushroom dishes. Re: the service and atmosphere: I've had both great and crabby servers here, but the lady that handles the bills (I think it's the owner) has always been super nice to us. After a relaxing visit from the spa downtown, my boyfriend took me here for dinner. It was a perfect end to a perfect day. We were greeted and served by an all-Japanese staff (family run business) in a somewhat shabby looking establishment with homemade fish advertisment signs galore. We ordered the 10 piece nigiri set and were astounded by the high quality of each piece. My boyfriend loved the uni especially. We also ordered soft shell crab roll (dynamite!!), hamachi roll and temaki. High quality green tea too. We finished with mochi ice-cream. The place was packed with all Chinese people and I could hear one older couple speaking in Japanese. I did feel badly for the lone Japanese man who ate a large meal to himself and got snickered and talked about by the waitresses and large party guests. Perhaps the waitresses were doing it in a friendly manner as it seemed he was a regular face to them--but still, it caused enough attention from other guests who started laughing too.
