this swiss chalet is fantastic! My friend and I ordered the classic quarter chicken dinner with the mash taters and garlic toast. IT WAS SUPERB. Never in our years of living, have we seen an order come so fast. It came within about 15 mins... RECORD TIMING. once we opened the box we were delighted to find the best looking quarter chicken ever seen to our eyes. I know there were issues with this place but over the last month management seem to have made a real effort to get things sorted out with a new bar person and new staff and a manager that now walks the floor to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Today we were served by Erika (2nd day on the job). She took the order and we were delivered exactly as requested - food piping hot, extra sauces the full works. Service was amazing - our glasses were never empty.
Food as always is great - hot, fresh and served to order! Definately worth a try if you havent been before

We go to the Dixon Road location and absolutely love it there. Mostly because we are served by Tanya and sometimes Christina. They are the best Waitresses there. Tanya always remembers what we order, even our drinks, every time we go there and Tanya is the reason we keep going back to that location. When you go to chain restaurant, you often get apathy, slow service, and usually something below par. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. First off, when we were seated, they did the server's name in crayon as many chains do, but also pointed out where the washrooms are and told us explicitly that we could ask any server for anything if she was not visible. The chocolate milkshake was loved by my daughter, and was nice and thick with the extra that didnt make the glass served in the stainless stell container it was made in. We were getting worried about service when our brushetta bread took so long, but the server showed up, and apologized for the delay telling us the original order was not up to par, so they remade it, and because of the delay, it was on the house. WOW - free food and I didnt have to complain at all. The chicken fajita was served sizzling hot and the wings were very good. The atmosphere is typical for a bar and grill, targetting the younger crowd. The staff all wore blue t-shirts with cheeky slogans such as "Please tip well - i know that's not your wife" and the servers are selected for certain assets that goes well beyond statistical coincidence. I would go back with the guys, or a business client, but not really a family place, but the food was very good, service was excellent, and little things like stocking diet redbull as well as the regular blue can, made it a great place to eat.

I have been ordering from other restaurants and the food and service was best so far. The service was although the best so far, but not the best you can get on busy days. But during Christmas days, the service was the BEST ever, because there was not just one server but 2, the younger, taller one with the better English was a great help; she helped me load the food on to my car, which was a great help for a old me.
The food that I bought was enough for my party (which had over 60 people), and was all that expensive for a group this size.
The place is very clean for a resturant, but a bit too small to fit a large crowd.
Another time where I had to put it on delivery, although there was a 4hour range, the food was still nice and hot, and the chicken was still crispy, just the way I like it.
Overall I would give The Sun BBQ a 5/5 (6/5 if I could) because it's the best anyone can get (especially during Christmas times). I would definitely recommend this to everybody, no matter how big the group or small, there is something for you to enjoy.

I read many reviews from many places and decided I didn't want to visit this place, after bumping into a friend who had RAVE reviews I decided to give it a shot and dam I am GLAD!
The eating area decor is old and not meant to impress, but many reviews said it was dirty I did NOT find that it is a truck stop.
I read there are rude waitresses, well there isn't any waitresses at all so that issue was void.
You order your food and wait for your number to be called is how the purchase process works.
What you get is a GREAT tasting steak for a crazy value, 12oz your choice of 3 cuts NY, Tbone, or rib eye AND fries for $11.99, OR feeling more hungry 16oz same cut choices for $12.99 but no sides.
I went there the first time one week ago and have been there 4 times my orders have been the 12oz special with fries and 16oz without fries all times were great.
SO you love steak but can't afford the crazy prices and don't care about decor this place can't disappoint, great steak and portions for budget pricing.

Margarita- Only had better at an authentic Mexican place in Bradford (MexiCanada). Wonderful traditional flavor and properly made and presented.
Dry Rib- Excellent. Wonderful taste, not overwhelming the meat, meat done to perfection. Was told it was more spicy than the wet rib, loved the heat. Had it with a nice Malbec
Coleslaw - best I have ever had. The sauce was creamy but light and didn't overwhelm the veg. Very fresh and crunchy.
Sweet Potato Fry- done nice and dark (double fried) and still full full of flavor but no grease AT ALL. excellent job.
Atmosphere- low key, dim lights and excellent music mix. Easy to slip into an indulgent mode. Very comfortable in the diner decor and the simple bell used to signal the next order being ready.
OVERALL - WOW! Will be back. Can't wait for patio season!
