I will always remember what I had for dinner the first time my parents brought me to the Cook's Shop. It was the Chicken Diablo - a whole, large chicken, butterflied with a spicy sauce. The server commented that it was "bigger than me" and I might not be able to eat it all. I proved her wrong! SInce then, I have made many trips to this little place and most of the time I still end up with the chicken. My girlfriend feels the same way about the Angus Scallopini. On our last visit, the "garnish" (as they call it), was an order of spagheti in marinara sauce. In most places, this "garnish" could have been dinner! I will never stop coming here. The food is great. The wait staff are super nice and accommodating. And the one waiter who always seemed to be in a hurry is now gone - (some people will find that a relief, but I must say he waited on us a couple of times and it wasn't too bad). My family and I go for breakfast here whenever we get the chance, be it Mother's Day or just a Sunday morning (or for my friends and I, the morning after shopping the Black Friday sales in the states!) The waitresses are all very friendly and attentive. The restrooms are very clean, and you can actually see the kitchen from some tables in the diner where you can see the chefs working hard and in a clean and efficient manner. When food is up, it's brought to you promptly; you won't be receiving any cold breakfasts here! The food is amazing, and you get great portion sizes for your money. The value is great here. I could rave about every breakfast item they have since I've basically tried them all. My favourite thing to order though is the breakfast for 2, for $14. Me and my boyfriend get this whenever we go, and you get SO MUCH FOOD. You get ham, bacon, sausages, toast, pancakes or french toast, eggs and home fries (HOLY crap). We can hardly finish it all, even my 200 pound bodybuilder boyfriend hahaha. I also like how when you order orange juice they bring it to you in a bottle and a cup on the side with ice. And the coffee is greaaat too! Best breakfast in Windsor, hands down! If I had to choose going out for dinner anywhere, or going for breakfast at Uptown - Uptown gets my vote! Visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday afternoon after driving by several times and not even realizing that it was really there (found it on restaurantica). We all shared a bunch of appetizers which were all great (huge portions so we took a lot of food home) and then my husband and I split the clubhouse and a burger. The burger was the best that I had ever had, and the clubhouse was great. I was with a party of 5 and we were all totally shocked by the huge portions that we received. The service was extremely friendly and speedy and we were made to feel like we were right at home. The server even wrote out a list of their daily specials for us so that we would know for the next time we came back. The place was super busy and I can see why. I have a feeling that this will turn into our new local spot for dinner and drinks. Great atmosphere with cliental that seemed to be from toddler right through to the elderly and prices are extremely reasonable.. for all of the food we ordered it probably would have cost double anywhere else!
